Fairlane Children’s Centre is a non-profit, charitable organization. We provide child care services for the families of the St. James- Assiniboia communities. Our centre was first established in 1975 inside St. Charles United Church as St. Charles Tot Stop. At that time we were one of four Tot Stops in Winnipeg. We became Fairlane Children’s Centre (a non-profit organization) in 1989 when the Centre moved into Hedges Middle School (369 Fairlane Ave.) where we are currently located.
We are:
licensed (by the Province of Manitoba) for 40 spaces
Providing quality care for children aged 15 months to 6 years
Open from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. , Monday to Friday
Open year round except for Statutory Holidays
Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of parents, community members and staff.
Members of the Manitoba Child Care Association and the Canadian Child Care Federation
We will provide a secure environment in order to make all children’s experiences enjoyable, and try to provide a balance between the home and Centre environment. To promote this atmosphere, we will provide activities, materials, equipment and play experiences which will help each child in his/her development. We will ensure that each child’s physical and emotional needs are met.
